The First day of the winter is very important for all the Romanians, because in this day in 1918, after the First World War the last Romanian province, Transylvania has united with the other Romanian provinces (Wallachia, Moldavia, Bukovina, Bessarabia, Banat, and Dobrogea) in the big Kingdom of Romania.
This day is the national day of Romania because is recording to all the Romanians the importance of being together in one country.
Today a lot of Romanian provinces are in Ukraine and Bulgaria after the Second World War and the URSS aggression. Another part, Bessarabia is an independent country – the Republic of Moldova. This country is a divided territory between the Russian interests and Romania and UE affiliation.
So, we can say that is a sad day, because Romania is still divided…
