Lechinta Saxon Village (Romanian: Lechinţa; German: Lechnitz; Hungarian: Szászlekence) is the northern vineyard from the oldest Austro-Hungarian Empire and his wines were drunk at the imperial court of the Habsburg from Vienna.
This vineyard was founded by the antic Dacia’s, but the European fame was given by the Saxons colonists, who cultivated grape varieties Nova, Traminer pink (syn. Gewurztraminer), Furmint and Riesling Rhin.
Now the Saxons from Lechintz have immigrated to Germany and led their heritage behind: the Saxon church, the Saxons houses and the legendary wine taste.
